Got a favorite dog breed? Which one and why?

They say they can be aloof. My father in law used to come down to our house for steak every week, once dinner was over and he sat on the couch our dog would lie next to him with his head on his knee and wouldn’t move until he got up to leave, he’d have to rub the caution back into his legs when he got up from the weight of the dogs head. That dog would have died for him.
