Heater instrument panel differences for 67?

@Dana67Dart A bit of a tangent, but somewhat related. Do you happen to have any pictures showing the differences between the heater control units for a 67 and 68/69? I'm guessing I have a 68/69 unit based on how it attaches to my dash, but something about it just doesn't seem to fit right with the bezel. If I take everything off my dash I have two holes on some recessed tabs where the heater controls go. Based on what I've seen on the 67 bezel, I think these holes are where the screws go in from the back to mount that panel? However, my heater controls have a plate with some studs pressed in that go in these holes instead and nuts then secure the heater controls and the bezel has the other screws into the dash to mount it. What doesn't quite add up for me is that there are some relief holes in this heater control plate that match up to posts on the back of the bezel, presumably to help align the slots in the bezel with the levers and switch on the heater controls. On my bezel it looks like someone had to shave these posts down to fit in the holes in the heater controls, which doesn't really make sense. I know the heater controls themselves are 68/69 as the blower switch isn't the 67 style, and I would assume the plate with the studs in it would also be 68/69 since it has the studs period (couldn't have them if it was a 67 because it would keep the 67 style bezel from mounting. But the controls and the bezel don't seem to fit together for some reasons, so curious if you might know why.

The plate with the studs is shown in the parts diagram, but has no part number associated with it. They just identify it as a "plate", no reference number to look up. But I'm also just looking at the 67 parts manual, so maybe the 68/69 ones does have that as a separate part.
