Advice on buying junkyard engines?

Get an engine from a car or truck that has accident damage, preferably in the rear and do all the normal checkouts you would do. This would apply to you pull it yards. I once bought a Ford 2.9 engine for my sons Ranger and found it had a fairly recent reman engine installed. Most yards will give some kind of warranty on an engine.
