Dana 60 question

the bearings pointed to, are the ones they hone to make it easier to remove/change to set back lash. when all is done, they just tighten everything down.

Yeah, those are the bearings there is ABSOLUTELY NO NEED TO HONE. They don't have to be removed to change backlash. If that's what they're doing, RUN, because they're doin it WRONG.

That diagram is slap incorrect. The shims do not install behind the bearings. They install between the bearings and the housing. I have TWO Danas within 100 feet from me that I REBUILT MYSELF. One is a Dana 60 and the other is a Dana 70U. They are both the same in that aspect.
