Door Button

so i went to leave work yesterday and pushed the button to pen the door. thought i heard something fall in the door when i pushed in the button.:( so what did i do?? tried to push again and see if something else falls....

well it did the whole Damned button fell in.:BangHead: i see in the "Body Manual" a few pictures but is there any where else to get a good idea of what im about to run into when i remove the door card to see what can be done?
does it require removing the top metal panel as well?

once again any help would be greatly appreciated.
