Yes, They rotted out. This is not the first time it has happened. Those patches were a quick,fix back in March of 2024 until I found Proper replacements that were not ~$150 Per unit. I wanted to keep driving the car and it sounded weird and felt horrible with the muffler(s) rotted out with a big hole in it.
Recently, I found the time to replace them.

I think because of the way the exhaust is setup on this car with the duals and small engine, the mufflers sometimes do not get super hot here in the cooler weather and moisture collects then rots them faster than if there were on a 318/340/360 powered vehicle.
