Speedo cable making noise

67 should have a screw on end that looks like the end on the transmission but smaller.

On my dart I can (just barely) unscrew the end and once it's free it's not hard to pull it to the side.

Removing the drivers seat is a huge help. It's only 4 nuts

From there you can pull the inner cable out.

Remove the trans end of the outer housing will make things easier.


You may need to spray some cleaner down the housing (be carefully about the type of cleaner that it is comparable with the housing)

Then clean and lube the inner cable.

Yes on the front seat. I just had it out to redo interior/ Bulkhead connector and put in new refurbished steering column. That was before total knee replacement I had done like 8 weeks ago. Ugh was hoping I could get around not monkeying around under dash again. 67 and feeling it oh well gotta bite the bullet
