Yet another 727 torqueflite end play question

Are you having too much end play? Or not enough? When I use a lot of assembly lube, it will be hard to pick up the input shaft to check end play til after it breaks free from the lube, then it works fine. I do put the trans tailshaft on the ground with the tail housing in place. I have a bench mount that allows me to do that with no issue.
