The Boyd build...
Vs the stock bodywork. Shows some of the work already done. Drip rails removed, seams filled, fender openings completely re-contoured, handles, hinges and all emblems shaved, core support altered, etc... Not worth anywhere near the amount of money already charged, but Boyd was red hot as a builder for awhile and could charge whatever he wanted. A couple of his custom builds set the whole street rod genre and rich people were lining up to get a Boyd build. As already said, fools and their money
The $184K in receipts is pretty much meaningless at this point (if it ever really meant anything anyway). Everything that was done with the frame, for example, will have to be revisited because of the surface rust shown in the pictures. It's a full start over, everything has to come apart and be prepped again. And yeah, sitting since 2007? Some of that stuff isn't even good anymore.
If someone GAVE you that build, if you're paying someone to finish it you're still $100k to go.
