Need advice for 340 intake swap

I was expecting holes on a 3462848 intake to look more like this one (not mine):



The one he posted looks like the primaries have been opened up to me.

Maybe it's the lighting or my eyes are shot (that's possible). Also, the primaries on his manifold look irregular to me.
