The thread took a wrong turn early on when it got argumentative. The only way to fix it would be to start a new thread and this time have the original poster be a bit more open to the possibility that some of the tests weren't the final word - e.g. cam timing on the dots isn't as accurate as a degree wheel, and doesn't answer what the spark timing is doing at all.
