agreed, yes. bolt the trans' to it's crossmember and that will determine front to back placement, then as above notch the mount driver's side for oil pump clearance. i usually then sit the motor on a block of wood between oil pan and k member. you can then safely work around both sides to make mounts. get it all tacked together then lift the motor enough to remove them for fully welding and painting.
