Ok he’s fairly new I’ll give a chance. When you say timing is good. What does that mean to you are you referring to 10 degrees BTDC or you just saying it’s good? How did you make this determination? Did you use a timing light and factory manual to set timing. When you say vacuum is good did you actually put a gauge on manifold vacuum and determine a reading? How did you get to 3.5 turns out and figure that’s where idle circuit needs to be.

For the idle i just went in on the screws on both carbs till it about died, slowly backed out and got carbs evenly backed out until engine ran smooth. Didnt follow any manual or anything so may not be right but i did that after my grandpas adjusted the idle and they said its the best theyve ever heard it run so i figured the 3.5 turns out is good
