I find it interesting that so many people step up to pay for a 340 when for less money, they can build a 360 to the same specs and make more power.
I generally agree. However, I can understand the allure of a 340. They are a different animal compared to other bore/stroke combinations. The 340 in my '68 Dart has decent set of heads and a healthy camshaft and really wakes up at higher RPMs. Some people are just really into that aspect, and I get it. Me, I'll be replacing it with a calmed down 408 for better street manners and 'torque-on-demand' and save the 340 for a future hotrod.
