I'd really like to see these stock headed (no porting), air gap, xe268H cammed, 340's pushing 112-113+ mph in the 1/4 at 3200-3300 pounds.
I know of a really scienced out car, 360, j head, ld 340 with and old school 214-224 dinky cam running 11.70's with slow MPH for ET. Far from "stock" 1.88 heads on that one and it weighs in at 2850 or so IIRC.
Dyno numbers sell parts. The vaporizer deal done a long time ago to get the correction factor overstated so a big name could claim a certain HP... yeah someone thought that up. :)
Track numbers prove dyno numbers... those magazines failed miserably over the years when published stuff was run at the track. 700hp A body car barely running mid 11's, yeah 700 right.
