I remember seeing photos of a y-block intake manifold with a little ridge cast into the top almost a complete oval for to seal the bottom of the air filter with the blower.

I can't speak to that one, as all of my Y-block knowledge comes second-hand, from the guy who built the engines above, and who used to build custom, one-off intakes for Y-blocks back in the day.

But I found this photo of a factory '57 T-Bird with the supercharger (I guess these were called "F-Birds" because of the engine code):
