Too much intake? RPM Air Gap on a stocker 360

I had a stock bottom end 360, comp XE262, headers, a little bowl porting on the stock 1.88" heads, RPM air gap, and a 600CFM edelbrock carb and that combo pushed around a 4000 lb chrysler 5th avenue with an A500, about an 1800 RPM converter and 3.55's very, very well.....performance was comparable to a first gen 300C AWD with a 5.7
