They did admit they may have spent more there than necessary, but they also didn't include any transmission adapters that will be needed for a usable street car, so its probably a wash.

You don't need an adapter to bolt up a small block 727, 904 or manual trans bellhousing. All you have to deal with is the flexplate or flywheel.
