New Member For The Mitten State

Hello everyone! My name is Jack Castle and I'm new to the forum and to A Body Mopars.

I am 23 years old and have been wrenching on classics cars since I was 15! I've had a few classics (1985 Camaro, 1979 GMC C15 Short Bed, 1979 Trans am, a roached 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner, 1979 Chrysler Cordoba 300, 1985 Camaro Z28) but I have finally stumbled upon my forever car! A 1974 Plymouth Scamp. I found her on Facebook marketplace in Ohio where the gentleman selling her collected cars and mostly sold them to make a profit. The story I was told was the car sat on jack stands for 30 years down in Georgia. The Scamp rolled off the assembly line with some cool options - 318 2 barrel, 904 automatic, frosty green metallic paint, dark green vinyl top, green deluxe bench seat interior, AC, and rear defrost. Thankfully not much has changed other than someone swapped in a A833 4 speed, proper 4 speed hump, A body pedal assembly, and the correct steering column from a 1974 4 speed A body (HECK YEAH). I couldn't have asked for a better car as the vinyl top is in perfect condition (even lays perfect in the drip rails), has zero rust, and completely unmolested. So far I have removed the 2 barrel, installed a 4 barrel Eddy intake, 600 CFM Eddy carb, 1971 340 HP manifolds, and a 2 1/2" exhaust. My plans for this winter are: swap out the 7 1/4 for an 8 3/4, replace all worn steering and suspension components, have the leaf springs re-arched so she sits a little higher in the rear, remove the engine and trans for disassembly, cleaning, and all new gaskets (might do some head work, 340 cam and springs, timing chain), remove some of the inner structure on the front / rear bumpers and attempt to tuck them in (the car has shock mounted bumpers WOMP WOMP), and install new carpet.
