2017 Ram 2500 diesel.

Would it pull it? Probably…. In my situation the closest track being 2hrs away (favored track 5hrs) and 3500-4000 elevation change and common wind I’d be leaning towards a 3500 dually minimum…. preferably 4500/5500. I’m not going to lie…. I like to “over truck” my combos.
Fwiw the 14-18 Ram CTDs are my favorite. Seem to have way fewer issues than the 19+ and still mechanical cam that has proven worry free. Just got back from our 3200 mile round trip. Averaged 10 mpg with our 3500 (not afraid to maintain speed limit… and that’s 75+). Iirc the rating for this truck was 16,000 max trailer weight so we are well below that. Also has a nice 4085lb payload rating. Only 48k miles on it. Sits in the garage until the toys need moved.
