That's kind of where I ended up. I went through a lot of different ideas of what I wanted to do with my car from a small block stroker, supercharged small block, all aluminum big block, to the gen 3 Hemi. I originally bought the car with the Hemi plan, but kind of waffled at the time due to prices (this was 10+ years ago when swaps were still pretty new). I was pricing things out and a lot of them came up similar in cost, but I ended up finding a 5.7 engine reasonably local for an acceptable price first. I also liked the idea that the modern engine was going to be a lot easier to mod and make power with while still being pretty friendly. The head flow on these out of the box stock is better than some of the best porting you can get on the vintage stuff, so it definitely leaves some room to grow.
