Exhaust/Starter/Wires Proximity

There's also two lengths of the original style starter. RRR and others may be able to fill inthe details.

What you show will probably be OK as long as there is NO STRAIN, GOOD SUPPORT, and a GOOD CRIMP.

I don't like or trust those closed barrel terminals. This one may let go. Yellow insulator is often used for terminals sized for 10 and 12 AWG conductors. If the brown wire to the solenoid is 14 gage it will likely work free over time.

I would also further protect the crimp by sealing the wire insulation to the terminal with some heat shrink. Look through the catalog for a heat shrink that can withstand engine temperatures.

The OEM routing and support should keep the wires at least an inch or two from the exhaust. Extra protection won't hurt. The factory did so too.
