42RH / A-500 in a Duster with pictures.
I have a bunch of pix for how I fitted the 42RH in the 69 cuda. Thought this thread was dead. Want to post these for others thinking about this swap. Since I had the floor out to be replaced, I cut and boxed the torsion bar crossmember. Then built my own designed boxed trans mount. I dont believe that mount has to be as thick as one would think as long as you dont eliminate the upper hoop of the crossmember completely. I also moved the inner mount bolts and reinforcement tubes on both sides outward for more room. Used s chevy truck trans mount. Modded the shifter rod to clear the O/D unit, and welded on a mount for the shifter rod lower bushing.
