It became apparent last year with ***** Marner and his no-trade. Yes both team and player sign the contract, but its the player that holds the gun to the owner head.
You as a player wanna play in the NHL? A minimum of 3 trade teams.
I was surprised to hear about that in other recent contracts as well, but I have to admit I don’t know/haven’t thought about it enough to have an opinion either way.
