Why would a thread get dumped when the only purpose of it was to help others?
Censorship is alive and well.. it's very much a case of opinions/thoughts and feelings that determine whether a post stays or not. The random deleting, and reasoning is typical of the it didn't fit the mold or narrative type. Other posts get locked or replies get deleted. Definitely a well oiled machine with set boundaries and limitations all based on time of day and moods therein.
The BIGGEST cause of this failure is incorrect machining of the lifter face. Seldom EVER is the cam the issue. Once in a blue moon you might find a lifter bore problem, but it's not common. That engine will need to come apart and be completely gone through
Not all of us here simply log in to talk about our projects. Some actually do post content that helps others.
It would be impossible to have rules that encompass every situation that can happen, so many instances may arise where it is a judgement call as to whether a comment or a thread is allowed to stay and be seen by the members of the forum.
I saw a car listed on a website that is in a Junkyard near me. I thought that others may benefit from knowing about this car so I figured that I'd post a notice about it in the "Mopar Parts Cars" segment of the forum. I clearly listed it as being in a junkyard, I clearly listed that I did not own it as well.
This was considered to be in the wrong forum and lacking the words NOT MINE as if being in a junkyard and stating I DO NOT OWN THIS CAR was not obvious enough. I added the NOT MINE and someone did move it to the general forum, a place that I did not think was right to announce a Junkyard car.
Several members clicked a LIKE and THANKS which by any measure meant that the effort was appreciated.
Someone dumped the thread. Not even a polite courtesy message explaining why either.
Why? What rule did this break? What harm was done? I had nothing to gain from posting this other than knowing that I may have helped someone.
There seems to be a trend of newbies who were made mods who are ultra sensitive, overreacting and plain old rude to memeber...including members that have been on this site for decades...key contributors. They power trip and and are ban happy.. friendly banter intermingled with a serious intent to buy, help etc is now responded to with persecution and or threats. I have no idea if any of these newer moderators know anything about Mopars, be at the technical side or number side. I think one of our older moderators might be back on the bottle or has the crankies like most recovered drinkers... low tolerance, judgy, very reactive in a lash out way.
They were brought on by Joey.. and I've never even heard of most of them..
"Member since *** 2024".."member since *** 2023"... huh?? Banning people that are members since 2006 over disagreements, friendly banter. When the mod can't explain and make sense and be fair .. they ban, delete, lock. Not to say that not necessary sometimes with pissed argumentive members on occasion, cause it sometimes is.. but lately its been over really dumb sht.
At the end of the day this site is for us members. We pay memberships , we contribute, we make the site what it is...
Just like the people and the government, one's supposed to represent us but in the long end... more so end up abusing the power we gave them. There are a few mods who habe always been fair, at least 99% of the time ... they know who they are and I won't name a bunch of mods off and single anyone out.
Buuuttt check out this message... over saying I'd road trip to buy some heads and made a fart joke...
