Nor do I know it all either. And what you've stated hasn't helped me to grasp it any better.

Torque and rpm = power and power is what's used, it's pretty simple, no hp VS torque, no torque does X and hp does Y, hp does it all and that is made up from rpm and torque.

Can you have torque absence of power ? yes but if no power is being used no movement over time has took place. Which has basically zero to do with POWERING cars, boats etc..
