65 barracuda steering coupler rebuild Questions

I'm all in on anything that eliminates the seal/bent-tab cover that I've struggled with for the better part of a day. There's not much info on the Bergman site as to how this goes on, i.e. how it works, and the photo of it is undescriptive. Does this also eliminate the need for that humongous spring clamp that goes into the roll pin holes? If so, BONUS!!
It's actually incorrect for mine. Mine is a 64 model. But it works fine. It fit "a little" loose, but I put a light coat of RTV around the coupler where the boot slides on, slid the boot on and put two black zip ties around the boot to hold it tight. So far it's not slipped a bit nor has it leaked. It's a good piece.
