Lower control arm

Posted a few days ago about an odd upper control arm, now an odd lower control arm. One of the arms does not have what I would call a flange stamped into the pin side stamping. The crude arrows I drew on the attached pictures show the flange on one of the arms and the missing flange on the other. Seems like the flange provides more support and bearing surface for the arm to rotate around the mounting pivot. However, I cannot see any unusual wear in this area on either the steel stamping or on the torsion bar/ pivot pin holder, so perhaps it isn't really necessary. The weld spatter is from me welding a washer in the bushing shell so I could remove it. Has anyone seen a control arm like this before? Trying to decide if I use it or look for a replacement. The control arm has a sway bar tab, so not as many replacement arms available.

Thanks,
John
