Talked to one of the companies you guys suggested. After looking at the pics, the ding is what stood out to them. And the q-tip residue. They said it looked like it's been dropped and the weld is layed over/flattened, just below the gouge in the pic. I took a closer look and it sure is.
My guess is they f***ed up at least twice and decided to just paint and send it. Good Grief.
I'm giving them another 24 hours then I'll ask Chase what to do.
If I end up stuck with this thing I'll strip all the paint off and see what it's hiding.
