Brainstormin' 440 vs 5.9 ...

I Notice you skip over all the one's that it had a hard time making 300 hp and less than 1 lbs-ft per cid which is insanely inefficient post #43 finally gets around where 318willrun's engine is ish, then yes after a decent ported head it barely cracks 1 lbs-ft per Cid which is still terribly inefficient. But yes wakes the engine up hp wise (but also barely cracks 1 hp per Cid) and yes would make a good engine for the truck, but will 318willrun build it to that level and if so what would the Magnum do with a similar ported head and cam ? Probably similar hp.
When comparing head flow on two different engines the assumption seems to be that if the flow is the same the potential HP and TQ will be the same. I'm not so sure about that. The flow is measured on a flow bench at a standard depression. More depression at the same lift usually results in more flow. So my question is, if you put heads that flow the same on a flow bench on to a 440 pump vs a 360 pump are they still going to flow the same? Edit: And you turn the pumps at the same rpm.
