I understand you are not making over 600 HP and are not necessarily looking to make the most power, but here's a scientific look at the exact question: The Power of 2.5 vs 3 inch exhaust

The short answer is you won't lose much with 2.5 inch, and it may be easier to install and more "livable" on the street without sacrificing much at the strip - depending of course on what your HP level is.

I wouldn't go to 2.5 if I already had 3", but I'm a "horsepower over everything" maniac. :rofl:
