What vehicles had a HIPO 318?
The smog head design of the 70's was corrected with the 302 head (80's).
This head design was used on the 273 Commando engine from memory.
But being a small capacity engine, it had small intake runners.
So fitting 340 and 360 heads on a teener can cause comp. isssues indeed!
As has been said many times before, you must change to a Zero deck piston at least.
Quench is rarely talked about these days with crap gas.
But squeezing the mixture down to approx 50 thou, pushes the flame towards the plug.
Try doing that with any smog head...:poke:
The 302 has large pushrod holes that deter porting at the entrance.:wtf:
