lbs-ft per Cid tells the efficiency of the engine since the 440 makes similar torque as a decent 360 which to me now makes them similar engines that will need to turn similar rpm to make similar hp, but since the 440 is way less efficient it needs to move more air than the 360 to make similar power and rpm.
