1967 Barracuda Trunk Trim Hadrware
Just a quick recap of a few threads and what I have learned regarding 67 Barracuda upper and lower trunk trim.
Upper trunk trim
Far left/right holes in the trunk lid are not accessible from inside.
Therefore, the upper trim has square cutouts on the back of the trim in order to slide in clips that push into the trunk lid.
The rest have threaded clips with nuts.
The face of the trim follows the contours of the upper section of the tail lights.
Lower trunk trim
All holes are accessible from the inside.
Therefore, lower trim does not have cutouts on the back.
All clips have threaded studs and nuts.
The face of the trim follows the contours of the lower section of the tail lights.
Once you notice the difference in the contour of the tail light top vs bottom, and the contour of the lower trim, you can't unsee it.
There's a noticeable bevel sloping down from the center of the trim, the back part, to the vertical face of the trim.
It is very pronounced on the tail light, and in turn very noticeable on the lower trim.
Also, upper/lower trim had black tape in the center, the black in the tail lights was painted.
Arrows show the 'bottom' of the lower bevel, roughly. Can also see the black tape wrapping around as opposed to the black paint on the tail light housing.
Now get out there and find 67 Barracudas to nitpick and owners to criticize and shame.
Captain Obvious signing off.
