Nothing that a MIG spool gun or TIG can't take care of, adding more material. I'm a welding hack but I wouldn't hesitate to undertake a task like that. I'm set up for it with the welders and milling machine. I repair aluminum oil pans for BMW E39 M5s and once the material is clean, filling a void using a copper backing plate is surprisingly straightforward.

Having said that, if you are paying someone $100/hr to do it, it might be a bit expensive in the end. And I'm not going to claim an adapted intake will have the best runner geometry, and hope the intake has enough runner cross sectional area if you need to fully port it. But it should make for a good start.
