Looking for advice. Want to build a Duster to run on a budget.

I admit to being an old guy, I try not to live in the Mopar world of the 90s, but fact is that supply of decent projects priced "correctly" in the market, keeps getting smaller and smaller. Like already said, decent Duster projects have really gotten higher and scarcer in the last 5-6 years for sure. And then there is the mentality of "I know what I have and the price ain't coming down!" at least around here.

Here in the South, out sheet metal outlives our engines. Good in a way, till you realize 99% of 60 year old cars have rust somewhere!!! And like said, finding a GOOD running engine is WAY harder than it used to be just a few years ago, and the good ones are more costly. Everything costs more!

Patience is always a key. Always be on the look. Always spend time making friends in the hobby. Find friends that are not into big blocks IF that is what you seek. Gotta have a Duster, find friends that are die hard B body guys!!

When I am looking hard for an X, I never stumble on it. Then when I care less, there they are and cheap enough!!! Patience! :BangHead:
patience is definitely the key to building something on a budget. I bought my first 4bbl carb from a scratch and dent discount store in town. it was a marine qft 600cfm black anodized. it was half off. (after running the pos 2bbl for a while.)
Also, ingenuity is the other key to cheap building. I had a 60s mustang radiator in my car a friend gave me for free in my car before I pulled weeds in my backyard to earn a cheap ebay aluminum radiator my parents helped me buy.
I'm not saying that things haven't gone up in price, but there are still ways around it. Instead of trying to get a 70 duster or demon, get a 75 dart or scamp or something. while ugly, it will be cheaper then change the nose later.
