904 tailshaft conversion from E body to A body
904s in '72 will have no difference in the tailshaft or housing.
Only possible exception is the presence or lack of the floorshift bellcrank pivot bracket bosses on the bottom of the housing. If you're not using a factory console and shifter it won't matter.
727 and 904 will be different, and some 727 truck applications will differ from each other.
The '65 and earlier transmissions shown above are obviously a different ballgame.
