Mini Spare
I used a stock steel 14 x 4.5 steel wheel and a Coker Tire Firestone Radial F560 Tire 155R14

Sits flush in the spare tire wheel well, and is sub 100.00.
SOMETHING TO CONSIDER with a smaller OD spare... If you have a Sure-grip or other limited slip / locking rear, they don't like having 2 different size tires. If I get a rear flat, my plan is to remove a front tire and put the spare there, then put the front tire on the rear (in my case all 4 are the same size)

85 ish Volvo 240 uses a 14" "donut" tire I don't know if the wheel is 5x4 or other but it's a 14" taller tire.

I also don't know if it would fit in the ID of the spare tire well
