We use sand and granulated salt but that comes after they spray down the salt brine solution. Our roads are white with the stuff. It get's in places you didn't know existed.

They do the same here, the brine they put down before an ice or snow event arrives, seems to do a good job, but yes, get everywhere on/in a car, look at a black car in a parking lot after brine has been put down, unreal.

Good morning everyone, I did a thing last night that I have been tossing back and forth for a couple years, but after driving her around a bunch I made the decision.
