Stroker Combo's for a 400 and 4.15 Crank....?

DGrace I’m going follow along I’m in the same situation. 400 block standard bore I have the steel eagle 4.150” crank. Headmen b body headers and a edelbrock dual plane intake. I need everything else the rods and pistons likely will be the 440 source stuff. I joined the facebook page 500 inch mopars these guys know their stuff. I had the same concern you do with the short skirt piston and oil support rails. But that’s what makes the build awesome because you have 500ci with half the weight of a 440 piston that revs to 7500rpms. These nuts are running them on the street from 650-800hp. Also follow justMoparJoe YouTube channel look for his playlist for Dave’s big block 500 stroker it’s the same build we are planning he makes some steam with this build. Good luck

Yah, I follow both JustMoparJoe and RustBucketRestos - love their stuff - next level in mho.... I picked up a Molnar 3.91 crank a 6.535 rods for a 470 build but I also have access to a 4.15 crank and was wondering about the possible combo's that are available. My main concern (from what I've read) is that the short skirt piston with the oil ring supports cause "piston slap" which does not seem desirable. I'm no engine builder so I'm trying to do the research before I go any farther. I picked up my TF 240 heads recently (Christmas present to myself) and Harland Sharp rockers so my 400 block will be headed to a machine shop soon - ish. I've been carrying that block around since 1996 and it's long past due for a build.....many roadblocks and detours along the way but LORD willing, this thing will live! Thanks for all the replies..... Not many (as in none) MOPAR friends so not much help or input - you guys and YouTube......
