Got it. Measuring like that I get about .474” to .480” at the different ports. But, the bottom of the casting, where you are measuring to, does not get machined flat to the same level as the head gasket deck surface.

I am probably saying this wrong. Lay your head down on a table or workbench, head gasket surface facing down. Is there a gap between the casting and the table? Factory castings there is a gap. That is why we have to measure the gap as well, so we are both starting from the actual deck surface.
