Correct Air Cleaner for '68 Dodge Dart GTS 340?
Okay, finally got around to photographing the (incorrect) air cleaner that I received with the Dart, along with two pie tins. The first is the one that I'll eventually use with the correct air cleaner whenever I do get one. The second one was right beneath it in a box of parts - obviously not for this car - and it's in only so-so shape. Lots of scratches and small dings.
My friend who owned the Dart had a 1970 Chrysler 300 Hurst Edition (I think that was the name), and I'm guessing that TNT 440 plate was the one that was on the car when he bought it, but he found a nicer one so installed that. He had sold the 300 long before acquiring the Dart, so I'm thinking everything just ended up in a catch-all "Mopar" box.
As for the air cleaner, after posting a pic on Facebook when I first got the car, someone piped up right away letting me know it was incorrect for a '68 Dart, and said it was for something in the 1972 model year. I didn't see an exact match on that air cleaner identifying site linked above, so who knows. In the meantime, it's functioning fine (I put a new filter in it) so replacing it isn't high on my priority list right now.
