So….. ever over carburate?

Lots of racers drive their car to the track. Just Mopar Joe has done a video on a 426 Hemi, using an 850 carb, then a 950. The 850 carb made more tq & hp throughout the whole rpm range. The 850 made 645 hp @ 6800 rpm. There are plenty of examples of smaller carbs outperforming bigger carbs. Above is just one. Bigger is not always better.
Funny thing about a Hemi, my dads stock iron headed 426 hemi that is only .020 over ran the best with my AED 1150 dominator. Going from his holley 1050 dominator to my AED 1150 dominator, the car picked up 1 tenth when we did a back to back switch. Also we shifted the iron motor at 7,000-7,200 and crossed the 1/4 at 8,000. Car always had more MPH than it did bottom end. Best of 10.19 at 131mph with the iron heads. Camshaft is not overly big and the engine was not high compression either.
