Upper Ball Joint Question

I don't have a garage to tear apart the front end in currently, so my hope was to find a deal on some stock parts, clean/rebuild everything at work, and try to handle the swap at my buddy's house in a day or weekend. Unfortunately, I think the deal that I had found I was too late to. The search continues!
