I started tearing the Demon apart to store the parts for the future restore, The body is pretty bad form the windshield drains being plugged sitting in the woods for 35 + years. What I saw wast the water ran into the car over the lower windshield frame . Also the drip edge and cowl leaked water into the door edge rusting the bottom of the door hinge frame through. I scoped the door frame and the interior rust is rally bad so replacing the lower section would just be a bandaid. The car has to be spot weld drilled apart. Clogged holes with factory seam sealer and then I opened them

What I also noticed is the black out for the hood stripe was painted before the car was assembled

The column had a foam seal at one time no bearing.

The lower hinge frame was rusted through on the passenger side not the drivers side. But both hinge frames are so rusted inside they should be totally replaced

Hood is shot from rust but the scoop is fine.

Fenders and Passenger side door are savable and pretty nice considering the rust in the cowl, floors and windshield frame.

Once the water flows in a car through the windshield sitting for many years .The rust damage is unbelievable . Could it be patched up ? Of course and then sent down the road but not by us.
This body needs a total overhaul but my son wants to fix it. Every rusted panel will be removed and a doner car will be cut up and used to fix it. I'll probably watch over him from heaven. But he is committed to making a numbers matching fast class car out of it. Red white stripes /interior and top.
