72 Dodge Demon V5X

Looking at a Demon and on the fender tag, I see V5X which decodes to Body Side Stripes, Black. The Demon is a V8 car (318) auto with a console and white buckets. The thing is, my 72 Dart has the same option code V5X and it still had that stripe on it when I bought it. However the "stripe" was that rubber stick on trim not a vinyl decal.

My Dart stripe was this type:

For V8 Demon, I can't find any images of that stripe being used. Only on the V6 models.

So was V5X on V8 Demon this one?

Or was it this one pictured on a V6 Demon

Sales code V5X denotes Vinyl Side Molding, Black.

V5= Side Molding, X=Black

The molding is as pictured on the Dart or the second Demon picture.

NOTE: Demons, nor any other Chrysler products in the 1970s, had a V-6 engine. The engine in US domestic car and light trucks (excluding late 1970s truck Mitsubishi built 243 diesel six cylinder) are the slant six, or also referred to as inline six, cylinder engines.
