1968 Dart 273 - Freeze plug replacement

a lot of those tools have a stop built in

when i'm doing them all hillbilly i just use my calibrated eyeball.
I assumed the same thing. The discs have the protruding area thst goes into the plug and a wide outer rim that must stop when it hits the block and the plugs are in the proper depth. I dont think many mechanics would jave bought the tools if they didnt work well.
Were there only 5 basic sizes of main core plugs used during that era? Seems all the sae sets have 5 tools
