Early 741 with flanged axles. 50's to 65 I believe. Not an A body. Run away

Those “flanged” axles are just as strong and work fine. The only headache is brake changes. ALL the max wedge and super stocks from the factory had those axles. Mopar went away from for ease of use.

The 741 is stronger than a standard ford 9 inch center section. Hell you can’t even touch a 741 open center these days for 100 bucks. And that 741 center can be used in any 8.75

And those flange axles, they’re actually the same housing. Pull the drums, the backing plates are the same. Get a set of Dr Diff axles for 300 bucks and you have a 8.75 for 400 bucks with stronger axles. This is what I did on my polara.

Or you can de-swege the hubs form the drums and be able to work on the brakes as you would any other 8.75

And that appears to be a 62-65 B body axle based on vent location, those with an offset shackle kit will fit the tubs of 70-76 a bodies. So
