Could have a miss matched clutch linkage. They changed the pin spread on the peddle assembly in 1970. from 6 inch -5 1/4 make sure the pressure plate is releasing the disc all the way. Also New syncros from Brewers are a must . Redesigned and work great stopping gear rotation.
