Sparky's Swinger

Hey man, that interior looks like my great Aunt's sofa!

My buddy and I replaced the whole front frame in the Deviant project. I would do it again if we had to, caps suck. Go the extra distance and replace the whole frame rail and live happily ever after.

Once you get all the mechanical parts off it's just a matter of drilling out the spot welds and the frame rail will drop out like a rotten tooth when you're a kid!

Here's the thread with photos....

You can do it!

Thanks for the link, I will save those puppies. I guess my decision will based on the condition of the frame rail once I give it a real good inspection. I have to admit it is a little scary looking task .

Its be a long time but there was no way I was doing another car in a two bay garage, the truth is Momma said she was not interested in having her ride outside for two or three winters. We moved a year and a half ago and now I have a shop, no excuses.... got to git her done.

As far as the tach goes, I,m with Memike, I like it. So much so that I took the factory tach and 150 speedo and swapped them into my fish which I think was an option for the 68 formula s so it works out good both ways. I tend to get more guys liking that scoop mounted tach than not, so for now at least it will remain in the plan. Although its a long way off I am already thinking about color, sublime is my current choice but as with the Barracuda I will change my mind at least 42 times. I saw a wonderful Emerald green sort of thing on a hot rod on Barrett Jackson that really caught my eye.
Hope to get at it again this weekend....after I paint the living room.....
